What the study involves
Use Elderella with your family
Free access to Elderella Premium for a full year. Elderella captures your elder's care details so nothing gets forgotten, and helps you build a care team that sees only what you choose to share.
Share your experience
We want to understand how Elderella fits into your life. What's helping, what's missing, and what would make the biggest difference.
Shape what gets built
Your feedback directly influences what comes next; the features we build, the problems we tackle. Your experience informs every decision.
Be part of something bigger
Help prove that better tools make a real difference for families managing elder care. What you share will shape how caregivers are supported.
What we're asking of you
Everything fits around your schedule — a few short surveys and a couple of conversations, picked at times that work for you. What you share directly shapes what we build for families in your shoes.
Required
- Use Elderella as part of your caregiving through November 30, 2026.
- Complete a baseline survey (~20 minutes) when you enroll.
- Complete 3–4 follow-up surveys (~20 minutes each) over the course of the study.
- Have a conversation with our team (~45 minutes) within your first two weeks. We'll ask about your caregiving situation and your early experience with Elderella.
- Have a final conversation (~45 minutes) later in the study (November 2026). We'll hear what changed and what worked for you.
Optional
- Share 1–2 screen recordings of yourself using Elderella (3–10 minutes each). This helps us see how Elderella fits into your real routine. You choose when and what to record.
If invited
- Participate in a usability session (45–60 minutes, video call). Some participants will be invited to walk through specific tasks in Elderella while sharing their screen. We'll let you know if you're selected.
How we'll use what you share
Your survey responses, conversation notes, and screen recordings help us understand how Elderella works for real families.
- We report aggregated, anonymized findings to CABHI (our funder) and may include them in presentations, case studies, and publications.
- We may use anonymized quotes from your conversations, but only with your permission (you'll have the option to give or withhold this when you sign up below).
- Your family's care details are never shared with CABHI or anyone else. What you store in Elderella stays between you and your family.
- All data is stored in Canada (Google Cloud, Montreal region) and encrypted in transit and at rest.
Your privacy and rights
- All CABHI reports use aggregated or anonymized data. You will not be personally identifiable in any report, presentation, or publication.
- Screen recordings help our team see how you use Elderella — where it works well, where it doesn't, and what we should improve. They are reviewed only by our team and are never shared with third parties or made public.
- Elderella is not a medical device. We don't make clinical claims about treating or preventing any condition. Our work focuses on the caregiving experience and helping families stay organized, informed, and supported.
- Conversations and usability sessions are recorded for internal use only, so our team can review what was discussed. Recordings are stored securely and are not shared outside the Elderella team.
If you change your mind
You can withdraw from the Elderella Elder Care Study at any time. No questions asked. Email [email protected].
- Your Elderella Premium access ends, but you keep full access to Elderella's Free plan.
- Data already collected (survey responses, conversation notes) may still be used in anonymized, aggregated form, but no new data will be collected from you.
- You will not be contacted for further surveys, conversations, or usability sessions.
